Organize a Fundraising Activity

Cultivate an internal sense of belonging by rallying your employees around a fundraising activity for the Marie-Robert NeuroTrauma Foundation. Don’t know where to start? Think about what your employees like and find an idea to suit their tastes.

Concept and choosing a date

There is a huge variety of concepts to choose from, both conventional and not, including bike-a-thons, bowl-a-thons, ski-a-thons, sports tournaments, auctions (silent or otherwise), garage sales, theme nights, draws, etc. Simply form an organizing committee to identify the best approach and gather the volunteers who can make your activity a success.

When choosing a date for your activity, do consider your internal calendar, as well as holidays and other popular events that may conflict with your activity. Submit your project ideas to the Foundation — it would be a pleasure to discuss the possibilities with you.

Budget and promotional materials

Once you’ve set a realistic and obtainable fundraising goal, it’s time to plan your budget. Remember: the more inexpensive the activity, the more that can be donated to the Marie-Robert NeuroTrauma Foundation. And don’t forget sponsorship opportunities! When budgeting, include costs for rentals, permits, insurance, and food and drink, as well as costs for advertising and promotion. The Foundation offers promotional materials and can even promote your activity on our website. Ask us for more information!

Distribution and promotion

Use your promotional materials to spread the word about your activity and get people excited about participating. Email and your intranet are still the most efficient distribution methods, but in some cases, social media could also help. Once your activity is over, remember to thank your participants!
